City Research is a research and consulting firm focused on urban economics, real estate markets and finance, urban policy, and economics education. The firm brings strong analytic approaches to problems with its extensive experience in statistical and econometric modeling and use of major data sources such as the Census of Population and Housing, the American Housing Survey, and the Current Population Survey. In addition, City Research staff have significant experience with more qualitative research methods including survey methods, interview-based analyses, and case studies. A major strength of the firm is conducting sophisticated technical research and translating the methods and results into presentations accessible to a broad, non-technical audience.
Recent clients include the National Community Development Initiative (a collaboration of nine foundations, two corporations, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development), Fund for Urban Neighborhood Development, Urban Institute, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Recent research projects include an examination of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit, an assessment of the Enterprise Mortgage Investment/Fannie Mae program designed to bring long-term mortgages to Low Income Housing Tax Credit projects, and an examination of the housing and location choices of low- and moderate-income households in the City of Philadelphia.
